Pioneer Automotive to Lay Off 61 in Ohio

Pioneer Automotive Technologies will shut down some operations at its Springboro, Ohio plant, and lay off 61 employees between August and November.

Two-hundred and twenty people now work at the plant, which employed 380 in 2005.

Pioneer Automotive, a unit of Japan-based Pioneer, makes navigation systems and entertainment systems, including CD and DVD players, for automotive industry clients. Its North American operations are headquartered in Farmington Hills, Michigan.
