Continental Airlines Cutting 1,700 Jobs

Continental Airlines has announced it will cut 1,700 jobs, due to a Q2 loss of $213 million and a drop in air traffic.

The layoffs will affect 3.4% of the airline’s workforce. The 1,700 job cuts are in addition to a proposed move to cut 500 reservations agents and 700 flight attendants.

Continental Airlines is a US-based certificated air carrier. Based in Downtown Houston, Texas, it is the fourth-largest airline in the US based on revenue passenger miles.
