csufresno_160x120California State University, Fresno has eliminated jobs for more than 200 lecturers, and may need to make more layoffs to close a $16.3 million budget shortfall.

The University will also cut 65 vacant positions for management and administrative staff. The school will raise fees and eliminate 1,000 class sections.

Founded in 1911, California State University, Fresno, commonly referred to as Fresno State, is one of the campuses of California State University, located at the northeast edge of Fresno, California. Fresno State operates on a semester schedule. The fall semester runs from late August through December. The spring semester runs from mid-January through mid-May.
