Volvo Closing North Carolina Plant
Post Views 1Volvo is closing a plant in Ashville, North Carolina that manufactures components for final assembly of its cars and trucks. The work will be moved to three other existing factories, two of which are outside the United States. Only the assembly of cabs for motor graders will still be done in the US, at its existing facility in Pennsylvania. 228 employees in North Carolina will be out of a job, but the company says some of them will be invited to move to the Pennsylvania plant.
