tulsapolice (1)Potentially 155 Tulsa, Oklahoma police officers will lose their jobs by Friday if an agreement between the officer’s union and the city cannot be reached. Today Mayor Dewey Bartlett will present a new plan to limit the number of layoffs. Bartlett is expected to propose a 5.2% pay cut through next year. The Fraternal Order of Police will have this week to look the plan over and put it up for a vote. Any officers who lose jobs will receive two week’s severance pay along with unused comp and vacation time. Officers will discuss the proposed pay cut at their next union meeting Tuesday night.

Earlier in the month the mayor received a proposal for 100 police officer layoffs from Chief Roy Palmer.
