Due to a lost contract with Nortel Networks, Switzerland-based Kuehne + Nagel, a logistics operator with a center in North Carolina’s Research Triangle Park, will be letting go of 115 employees, says the Triangle Business Journal.  Kuehne had been operating the facility for a number of years but recent downsizing by Nortel has caused it to not renew contracts with many of its affiliates.

The company, as required by law, notified the Tar Heel State’s Department of Commerce of the impending cuts.  The layoffs will begin on August 31.

Kuehne National manager, John Dyer, stated that the layoffs would consist of the majority of employees at the center though he was unclear as to whether the facility would be closed down outright.
