Fiskars Brands Closing Wisconsin Facility; 65 Jobs Lost

Wisconsin FlagFiskars Brands Inc. plans to close its distribution facility in Sauk City, Wis. and eliminate 65 jobs in the process.

According to a report in the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel, Fiskars Brands revealed the news in a filing with the state dated Aug. 26. The human resources manager for Fiskars Brands, Emily M. Lyle, told the paper the closure is part of a consolidation plan first announced in May.

Fiskars Brands is based in Madison and is the North American headquarters of Helsinki, Finland-based Fiskars Corp.

Up to 24 positions will be eliminated Oct. 298 with the remainder coming between December 2010 and March 2011.
