Salina Human Resource Management Association Receives Pinnacle Award

The Salina Human Resource Management Association (SHRMA) has been awarded the Pinnacle Award, given out annually by the Society for Human Resource Management, a Virginia-based organization.

The Pinnacle award was given to the Salina department as a result of their free educational seminar “Coping with Community Tragedy—Workplace Violence.” Salina’s Association worked with the Kansas Highway Patrol in concocting the seminar.

Director of human resources at the SHRMA Marc Zieger, says the honor is a “huge deal.”

“There are 550 to 600 SHRMA chapters in the United States, and we’re one of nine to win the award this year,” said Ziegler. “It’s a huge deal for us to win this.”

The award comes with a $1,000 prize, which will be used to make 100 DVDs of the seminar.
