NJ city employees face layoffs and salary cuts
Post Views 2Wildwood city is going through a financial crisis. 41 layoff notices were sent to safety employees including police officers, firefighters and administrative staff but were cancelled later on. Also the number of hired class II officers has been reduced this summer and voters approved the reduction in the number of persons per post. The salaries of police officers have been fixed for 2 years and will not increase. The starting salaries of police officers have been reduced to $25000 from $40000. But still the city needs to find ways to fill the budget gap of $2.5 million.
