Salinas City Budget Dodges Layoffs
Post Views 0The Salinas City Council has approved its budget for 2011-2012, and reports that the city’s nine unions are making helpful concessions. The plan currently is to let go 57 workers, 22 of them police, but lay-offs may still be avoided. The city will do a final review of the plan in mid-July. Salinas has cut 137 positions since 2008-2009, according to City Manager Artie Fields.
