The US Postal Service is currently nearly bankrupt, and is trying to get permission from Congress to layoff about 120,000 workers.  It may also be unconstitutional for them to layoff many of these workers, who are currently protected by certain labor protections that are given to them.  The US Postal Service is also considering closing about 3,700 post offices as well as ending mail delivery on Saturdays to trim its budget even further.
