President has put forward a work sharing plan, in which the pain is shared by co-workers and also a bridge-to-work idea. The President has also proposed a $4,000 cash credit to companies who hire employees who have spent more than six months jobless. About 43% of the total unemployed people have been jobless for more than six months and this will reduce their skill levels. Work sharing has been in US since 1980s and has got tremendous success in Europe as well.
