Cook County Sends Out Layoff Notices

Board President Precwinkle of Cook County has announced plans to save money by laying off over 1000 workers. Approximately 100 layoff notices have already been sent to workers in various offices. The layoffs are expected to save $40 million, although the budget shortfall is over $300 million.
