Individuals who are still without employment may be able to find jobs as tourism begins to increase again. With more tourists coming to different areas, more jobs will be made available because there will be more of a demand for workers at hotels, motels, and other places in which tourists tend to go to while visiting places in the United States.

Jan Freitag, who happens to be the vice president for Smith Travel Research Incorporation, says that if more people are traveling and more people are on the road, it is necessary to have more people working inside of the hotels as well. He says that because there has been an increase the amount of hotels being booked and the number of rooms being booked, it is believed that progress is being made. He sees this as a positive sign that tourism in the United States is finally making a comeback.

Data that was recently collected shows that there are some positively strong trends taking place in several different areas within the United States, which includes different parts of Kentucky, Mississippi, Missouri, Illinois, and Indiana. Data shows that hotel companies in parts of these areas have set plans to expand their operations and hire more employees because there are more people staying at the hotels now than there used to be.

As leisure and business services increase, there are more employment opportunities being made around the country, which is a good thing, especially while the United States is in recovery mode and is in desperate need to create jobs for the hundreds and thousands of individuals who are still unemployed. In the United States alone, during the month of March, there were about 7.6 million individuals who were working in jobs that related to tourism. This shows a huge increase from the 2.6 million individuals who were working tourism-related jobs back in 2010, shortly after the recession ended.

One of the most popular chain hotels in the United States, the Marriott, has forecasted that it will add on employees throughout this year, increasing its staff by about 6 percent which would also be equivalent to about 12,000 more employees. With the 12,000 employees added, the company would employ just about 212,000 employees. The Marriott, which is a hotel chain that can be found in just about every state in America, says that booking for rooms has been quite constant and strong, as more people are traveling and need a place to stay. And, because of this, they will need to hire more employees to ensure that every job gets done in an efficient manner, providing guests with the absolute best experience of the hotel during their stay.
