Now, Advanced Thermal Technologies LLC has been awarded a $150,000 Small Business Innovation Research grant from the U.S. Department of Energy to work on packaging for semiconductor materials. The grant was one of nearly 70 worth about $11 million to small U.S. businesses announced this week by the Energy Department.

It’s project proposes to develop packaging for power electronics systems that would better dissipate heat. Companies such as Advanced Thermal that win these phase-one grants can apply in the future for larger grants of up to $1 million for their projects.
