She will basically be responsible for overseeing the 11,000 employees that currently work for Union Bank.

Van der Werf will be stationed in the San Francisco and will provide reports to the President and CEO of Union Bank, Masashi Oka. She will take part in the creation of different policies and will work with other employees on collaborating together on all initiatives that relate to the human resources department. Oka believes that Annemieke is a leader and that human resources is her definite area of expertise, knowing that she has extensive knowledge of the industry and has presented herself as a leader for Union Bank for the past three decades, having worked for Union Bank for the past thirty years. In that time, she has managed to accomplish a great deal and has also helped the company to continue to remain organized and operate in an efficient manner. She has helped the bank to grow and expand in North America over the years and that is the primary reason she was selected for the new promising position that she has received.

Prior to receiving the news of being able to take on this position, Van der Werdd was the head of the Human Resources Department for Global Function. At that point in time, she was stationed in the London area, which is where she was able to develop all types of strategies for the human resources department of the Global Retail Banking and was responsible for hundreds and thousands of employees. During that period in time, she also was a member of the executive committee for the Global Human Resources Department.

Van der Werff has undergraduate and graduate degrees which she earned from Amsterdam-Haarlem Business School, located in Netherlands. Just about twelve years ago, back in 2000, she completed courses for the Certified Human Resources Executive Program. Van der Werff is excited to take on her new role, the position that she has been made available to her, and is expected to excel.
