Orange Township Delays Layoffs of its Firefigthers
Post Views 16Orange Township, Ohio, has delayed the layoffs of its firefighters by at least five months. The township’s board of trustees decided to use the money meant for new snowplows and tree removal equipment to cover the salaries of the 22 firefighters who would have otherwise been laid off. Those layoffs would have represented around half of the town’s firefighting force. The board of trustees agreed to pay out the salaries of these firefighters by using $1.3 million from the township’s general fund.
