Officials from Giles County based Mundy Support Service announced that 123 people would be layed off by the start of 2013. The cause of the layoffs is the termination of Mundy’s contract with Celanese. The contract expires on December 31st, and Celanese has decided not to renew it. Celanese gave the contract to another company The Shaw Group. It is likely that the majority of the employees that have been layed off will be hired by the new contractor, according to Andy Beard the Vice President of Mundy.
