Delaware: No Tax Break for Casinos
Post Views 2The Delaware casinos are facing 60 million dollars in debt and hoped for a tax break before the end of the fiscal year. But according to the governor of Delaware, the tax breaks are not forthcoming. The governor, Jack Markell and House Speaker, Pete Schwartzkopf agreed that the tax rates should not get altered because the revenue of 3.7 billion dollars from casino earnings was needed to help balance the state budget. Dover Downs casinos in Delaware are not satisfied with the state’s decision on the tax breaks because of impending employee layoffs and the need to improve restaurants.
