Vegas’ Rio Scales Back 70 Hospitality Positions

Harrah’s Entertainment has eliminated, or trimmed the hours of, 70 employees at the Rio Hotel & Casino.
In a statement, the company said the move was made due to “changing staff needs” as the gaming industry struggles with declining revenues.
Harrah’s posted a nearly $130 million loss in Q3.
Launched in 1990, the Rio All Suite Hotel & Casino is located off the Las Vegas Strip. The Rio was the first all-suite casino in Vegas. It was named after the city of Rio de Janeiro, and has Brazilian culture as a main theme. It is the permanent home of magicians Penn & Teller.
