Temp Layoffs Begin at Pennsylvania Plant

Temporary layoffs began at an Eaton Corporation plant in Beaver County, Pennsylvania this week.

The plant produces electrical equipment, including circuit breakers, and employs about 450.

The temporary furlough is expected to last about one week, as the company tries to save money in the economic meltdown.

An Eaton spokesperson said that not all of the laid-off employees will be recalled once the plant reopens. But he did not say how many would be fired.
