Ingham Regional Medical Center in Lansing, Michigan is laying off between 100 and 150 people in response to a drop in patient volume.  The cuts cover a wide range of positions, from clinical to clerical and administrative.  The hospital is owned by McLaren Health Care Corp, who will try to place as many of the affected workers as possible in other company owned hospitals.

The employees are represented by The Office and Professional Employees International Union who says that the hospital is already staffed at bare bones levels and warned that these cuts will put the hospital in a position where employees can no longer recommend the facility to family and friends.
