Although some guidelines can be followed that might come to your aid:

Your resume should be strong, inclusive of all your achievements, so that your transferable skills can also be identified and it should be convincing.

Your resume should also be fresh and clean and tidy. There should be no stains or unnecessary marks on it of any kind- grease, blood, tea etc.

Be pursuant. It is important for you to show your employer how interested you are to get the job and how important it is to you. You could constantly keep enquiring about the vacancy- whether it has still become available or not, at convenient and not-too-intrusive intervals.

Finding jobs in America can be tough but if you are from one of the prestigious institutions- Yale, Harvard, Ivy League etc, it should be comparatively a cake walk. You almost don’t need a resume. You only need to contact some senior from your college and approach him to recommend you to a certain company.

In case of filling up the answer to the question of why you left your current job, you could offer them the real problem or make up a problem yourself that is going to help you fetch the job.

There are plenty of websites that offer you the list of vacancies. Having had decided upon what your interests are and what kind of a job you want, you could find them on the websites.

There are classifieds in the newspapers also that could help you find a work in America. Jobs in America have no dearth. But it is more of finding a job in America that would satisfy your wants and needs.

Mention in your resume that you are extremely hard working and you would take the company to heights of success once you are hired.

For American employment, once you have been called for the interview, you should take it as your first and your last chance. The interview must go ravishing for the interviewers to understand your appropriateness for the post. Help the interviewers to realize your transferable qualities.

For the interview, you must choose very polite, courteous and professional mannerisms. The appearance or attire should be impeccable, clean. Well-ironed and should not emit body odor.

You must make yourself well qualified academically for the job as well as acquire training of any sort if required. Up gradation of the present educational qualification could help too.

Working in the US could be the dream fro many, not only the citizens but for the citizens of the other countries but job hunting in America is no cake walk.
