Chicago-based FreightCar America plans to cut 80% of workers at its Danville, Illinois facility.

The railroad cars manufacturer told the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity it would lay off 195 workers in stages, beginning Monday.

The Danville facility assembles new railroad cars and employs 252 workers.
