Itronix, a manufacturer of rugged laptops and handheld computers, says 300 employees will lose their jobs this year as a Spokane, Washington-area plant is shuttered.

Business Director John Schneider says about 20 other workers will have the chance to keep their sales and support jobs; and 60 workers have the choice to relocate to the company’s new base in Sunrise, Florida.

General Dynamics Itronix develops wireless, rugged computing solutions for mobile workers, offering a full range of field computing systems including laptops, ultra mobile notebook PCs and tablet PCs. In addition, General Dynamics Itronix provides services that range from project planning and management to third party integration services, enterprise help desk services, one-call mobility help desks, and ongoing maintenance support.
