Wilson Trailer Announces Layoffs

At a meeting with their employees on Saturday morning, Wilson Trailer announced more than 80 layoffs at three of their plants.  The company, based in Sioux City, Iowa, specializes in the manufacturing of livestock, grain, and flatbed trailers.
The cuts were immediate and impacted roughly 55 positions in Sioux City, 18 positions in Yankton, and 15 positions in Moberly, Missouri.
“We are a 5th generation family business with deep roots in the Siouxland region.  We have a high regard for our team members, these are good people.  We deeply regret that we have no feasible alternative to the difficult course we are taking today,” said the company co-CEO, John Persinger.
