Chicago Bridge & Iron plans to close its two fabrication operations in Tyler, Texas, eliminating 300 jobs.

CB&I says some of the employees will be transferred to the company’s Beaumont facility. The shutdown will not affect the company’s Tyler engineering center, which employs 360 people.

The Tyler area has lost more than 2,000 industrial and manufacturing positions recently.
