Drug Maker Acusphere Cuts 40 Jobs

Drug maker Acusphere is cutting 40 jobs.

The Watertown, Massachusetts-based company said the job cuts began in February and will last through April. The cut will represent roughly two thirds of Acusphere’s existing head count of around 60 people.

As recently as March 2008, the company had 118 employees.

Acusphere is a specialty pharmaceutical company that develops new drugs using their proprietary “microsphere” technology.
