Ciena Cuts 200 Jobs

The Linthicum, Maryland-based company cut jobs across the board, and will close a research & development office in Acton, Massachusetts.
Ciena employed 715 people in Greater Baltimore as of 2008, and 2,200 worldwide.
Founded in 1992, Ciena Corporation is a supplier of communications networking equipment, software and services that support the delivery and transport of voice, video and data services. Its products are used in communications networks operated by telecommunications service providers, cable operators, governments and enterprises worldwide.
