Flextronics to Close Plants, Cut Jobs

Singapore-based electronics manufacturer Flextronics International is cutting jobs and closing facilities to cope with the global economic meltdown.

The number and location of the layoffs have yet to be announced.

Flextronics signaled in January it might cut jobs due to a slowdown in the global economy.

Its customers include Cisco Systems, Sony Ericsson and bankrupt Nortel Networks.
