Caterpillar Bulldozes 2,454 Jobs
Post Views 1Caterpillar, the world’s largest maker of construction and mining equipment, has notified 2,454 workers in three states that they were losing their jobs.
The bulk of the job cuts are from plants in East Peoria and Aurora, Illinois.
The company is also closing a fuel systems factory in Jefferson, Georgia, and cutting jobs in Indiana.
In January, Caterpillar announced 22,000 layoffs and in February, the company offered voluntary retirement packages to 2,000 production workers.
