Broken Arrow to Eliminate 48 City Positions
Post Views 1The Broken Arrow, Oklahoma city council has voted to eliminate four dozen jobs, due to a $2 million budget deficit.
The 48 positions being eliminated have been vacant for the past two years because of a hiring freeze.
No city employees will be losing their jobs, and no layoffs are planned.
The council also voted to raise fees for water, trash and sewer service by about $15 per month.
Broken Arrow is the largest suburb of Tulsa. The 2007 census estimate showed a population just over 90,000.
