Ohio flagA new study says Ohio ranks 49th nationally in economic performance and employment, better only than New York.

The American Legislative Exchange Council also ranked Ohio forty-fifth for economic outlook.

The study found that net migration from 2000 to 2007 hurt Ohio, where it ranked fifth worst, losing 397,900 people.

Utah was number one, followed by Colorado, Arizona, Virginia and South Dakota.

The American Legislative Exchange Council is an organization of state legislators and private sector partners promoting “free-market” state legislation.
