The company is responding to a drop in customer orders.

CNH Global, short for Case New Holland, is the second largest manufacturer of agricultural equipment and the third largest maker of construction equipment in the world. Incorporated in Amsterdam, Netherlands and headquartered in Burr Ridge, Illinois, it is 90% owned by Italy’s Fiat Group.

CNH has 31 factories in 16 countries, including two each in China and India, one in Uzbekistan, and 12 in the United States. It also has 26 research & development centers in 12 countries.
