The state’s Metropolitan Transportation Authority, which runs NYC Transit, is targeting maintenance, painting and management positions. It hopes to save almost 38 million.

The New York City Transit Authority is a public authority that operates public transportation in New York City. Part of the New York State Metropolitan Transportation Authority, the busiest and largest transit system in North America, the NYCTA has a daily ridership of 7 million trips (over 2 billion annually).
