Back office and administrative positions at the airline’s Oak Creek headquarters were targeted. Those let go will get severance.

The layoffs leave Midwest’s Milwaukee area operation with 1,000 employees.

Midwest Airlines, formerly Midwest Express, is an airline subsidiary of Republic Airways Holdings, based in Oak Creek, Wisconsin, operating from the city’s General Mitchell International Airport. Midwest Airlines is largely known for its Signature Service all business class seating arrangement, which includes leather seats arranged 2-by-2 and their iconic fresh-baked chocolate-chip cookies.
