Sunrise Hospital Laying Off 100 in Vegas
Post Views 2Las Vegas’ Sunrise Hospital & Medical Center is laying off 100 staffers, including 12 registered nurses.
Others targeted include managers, support staff and ancillary workers. There will be outplacement services offered.
The hospital blames the layoffs on a lack of funding for indigent care and uninsured patients. Sunrise was never compensated for $110 million in care in 2008.
Built in 1958, Sunrise Hospital & Medical Center, a for-profit hospital, is operated by Sunrise Healthcare System, which is owned by Hospital Corporation of America. The 730 bed hospital is located in Las Vegas, Nevada.
