grapharrowdown_160x120According to the Department of Labor, there are 14.5 million unemployed workers chasing after 2.4 million full time jobs, a record ratio since 2000, when the government started keeping track of job openings. Layoffs have slowed, but new jobs are not being created and old jobs are not coming back. Uncertainty about the economy and the capacity to increase output without increasing employment is keeping companies from creating new positions.
