algoreCurrent Media, the Cable TV Network co founded by former Vice President Al Gore, announced that it was cutting 80 jobs as part of a global restructuring. This will bring the San Francisco based company to a total of approximately 300 employees. As part of the restructuring, the company will also shift its focus from short-form content to longer formats.

Current Media was most recently in the news back in March when two of its reporters were taken prisoner by North Korea, who claimed they illegally entered the country for the purpose of performing “hostile acts”. They were released after Former President Bill Clinton made a visit to Pyongyang.
