Post Views 4Duke Energy is offering voluntary buyouts to most nonunion employees in order to reorganize its corporate staff and save $200 million a year in personnel, travel and real estate costs. No layoffs were planned if the company failed to reach their savings goals according to spokesman Tom Williams. There is no specific number of buyouts set. Employees learned Monday of the buyout offers. Those who accept a buyout will receive a lump sum payment and being leaving the company in March. As part of this reorganization effort some corporate jobs will be moving to Charlotte, North Carolina from Cincinnati, Ohio and Plainfield, Indiana.
