Northeast Foods Adding 84 Jobs in North Carolina

Northeast Foods Inc. plans to build an 80,000-square-foot bakery and storage center that will create 84 jobs over the next two years in Clayton, N.C.

The $25.4-million investment was announced by North Carolina Gov. Bev Perdue on Monday. Headquartered in Baltimore, Northeast Foods is a national contract baker for the commercial and fast-food industries, including McDonalds. According to the Clayton News-Star, the positions will average an annual salary of $41,815.

Construction on the new facility is expected to begin this summer and should be operational by spring 2011.
