setonThe Seton Family of Hospitals, the largest hospital system in central Texas, announced Wednesday it is eliminating 150 jobs in an effort to trim its budget.

According to the Associated Press, the positions being cut include 74 that are currently vacant. The rest of the cuts will affect both full- and part-time workers.

The majority of the positions being eliminated are support staff and ancillary care positions, according to the Austin Business Journal. The cuts are the first at Seton since it trimmed 90 jobs in 2008.

Seton, which has about 11,500 employees, is looking to cut five percent from its budget.
