arizonaflag_160x120A new call center opening in Chandler, Ariz. is bringing 195 new jobs to the area. Safelite Group, an Ohio-based vehicle glass replacement company, is opening an 86,000-square-foot center, which will be the company’s first outside of its Columbus headquarters.

Company President Tom Feeney explained the move to the Phoenix Business Journal.

“We chose Phoenix for several reasons, including its strong business community and highly educated work force; access to a growing Hispanic and Latino-speaking employee base; the later time zone; and the climate,” he said.

Feeney added that the facility will eventually employ more than 1,000 workers. Hiring will include full and part-time positions. Workers will field inbound calls for customers scheduling vehicle glass services.

Safelite was founded in 1991 and employs more than 1,700 workers. It is a subsidiary of Belron US Inc., which employs 9,000 people at more than 300 locations throughout the United States.
