kentuckyflag_160x120Northern Kentucky is slated to gain more than 400 jobs through the relocation of two companies and the expansion of five others, Gov. Steve Beshear announced said Thursday.

Moving to the area are Wisconsin-based packaging company Coating Excellence International and Jacobs Automation, which develops equipment for materials and packaging industries. The two companies plan to create a combined 80 new jobs, the Business Courier of Louisville reports.

The companies slated for expansion, which will bring an additional 320 jobs, are Hahn Automation, Zumbiel Packaging, Impak Acquisitions, Parkway Products and Diversified Composited.

The seven companies are making a combined capital investment of over $28.4 million, Beshear said.

“I’m telling you that here in Kentucky, job by job and business by business we are digging ourselves out of this recession,” Beshear said.
