However, every career is riddled with many kinds of myths that keep people from understanding the full aspects of the career as such. Understanding the different aspects of the career in its entirety is very important to resolve all such myths that pertain to the field in general. HR or human resource development is a very powerful career field that is chosen by many people every year. It is so popular because the field has many opportunities that it provides people with and also there are lots of potential for people to reach greater heights when they are in this field.

However, as it is very common for every important or popular field to have different types of myths the HR or human resource development is not devoid of such myths. Many people believe that jobs in HR are very difficult to land because it requires a lot of qualifications and degrees to get into even entry level jobs in HR.

In a way this is true that qualifications are very important when a person is about to start a career in this field but then it is true for every field. Talent, interest and qualifications for the career are very important for a person to succeed properly in that chosen field. However, it is also important to have experience in the field and therefore entry level jobs in HR are not very strict in this case and people have an opportunity to start their training process in such jobs.

Many people also believe that to get to higher positions in HR a person has to have many years of experience in HR. In this case it might be beneficial if the person has a lot of experience in the definitive field, also on the other hand it is not very strict that the person has to have experience in this field alone.

Statistics have shown that many people who are in higher positions in HR or human resource development right at this point have lots of experience in other fields as well. Sometimes they are transferred from different fields to provide better performance for human resource development as they understand all these fields and therefore they can provide an all around performance for the company.

For higher level HR jobs HR management is one degree that is very important. This is a common myth, where in some cases it might hold true, it is also true that people with other qualifications can also hold management positions in HR jobs if they have the proper level of experience.
