Report: Online Job Openings Increased in September
Post Views 0Monster Worldwide’s monthly index of online labor demand showed an increase in September and was 16 percent higher than a year ago, Reuters reports.
The 138-point reading for September was up from 136 in August and was a marked improvement from the 119-point reading of September 2009.
In the report, Monster described the findings as “encouraging.” Online labor demand increased in eight of 20 industries with five remaining level.
“This is a clear sign that employers are recruiting in greater numbers than they were a year ago and bodes well for steady, but continued, improvement in the U.S. labor market,” said Jesse Harriott, a vice president at Monster.
The index is based on an analysis of job boards and a selection of corporate career sites.
