According a spokesman from Northrop Grumman Corp., reduced business will cause the defense contractor to cut nearly 500 jobs

The majority of the cuts will come from the company’s Baltimore facility at Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport. That facility has 8,000 employees.

Other locations where jobs will be cut are in Rolling Meadows, Ill., Charlottesville, VA., Norwalk, Conn., Melbourne, Fla., and Huntsville Ala.

“There reduced are due to a near-term reduction in business volume as a direct result of delays and uncertainty in a number of domestic and international programs,” said the company’s spokesman, Jack Martin Jr.
