Although you may have never heard of Chad Hurley and Steve Chen, you’ve certainly heard of the wildly popular site that they founded: YouTube.

These two web entrepreneurs have bought the Delicious web bookmarking service from Yahoo! Inc. and have big plans for the service.  Yahoo! sold the service as a result of its plan to get rid of sites it owned that were not performing well.

In a statement made today, Hurley and Chen said that they plan on making Delicious part of AVOS, a new internet company that they started.

Said Hurley, who is CEO of AVOS, “We’re excited to work with this fantastic community and take Delicious to the next level. We see a tremendous opportunity to simplify the way users save and share content they discover anywhere on the web.”

Hurley and Chen are relocating Delicious to San Mateo, California, in a location that is a few blocks away from where they started YouTube in 2005.  They are also “aggressively hiring” new workers to improve Delicious and make it easier to use for everyone.
