California city reaches deal with firefighters to avoid layoffs
Post Views 0In an agreement made between firefighters and the city administration to avoid layoffs, the firefighters will pay for 10 percent of the city’s share involving pension costs which will make their total contribution to 19 percent and take other measures including suspension of their uniform allowance and health savings which will be equivalent to a total of 9.5 percent pay cut. This move will help the city to close a $1.9 million deficit in a $ 33 million budget.
