A $33 million deficit facing Cincinnati City in 2012 has led to the suggestion that about 44 police officers be laid off. The city manager Milton Dohoney who proposed the policy has been opposed by City Council majority vote. Meanwhile, Mayor Mark Mallory is fighting to refuse a final vote on it because it clashes with his own interests.
